My priority on the school board is ensuring each child has a great experience at Elmbrook Schools.
A strong school district rests on a foundation of fiscal responsibility.
Why I’m Running
-
I care about the student experience. To prioritize the student experience the school board must ensure that it has:
Curriculum that meets the needs of all of our students (from interventions to extensions and everything in between);
Experienced teachers that are well supported;
Facilities that are well maintained and meet the needs of our students and staff.
-
Good fiscal stewardship is the number one responsibility of the school board. The school district must operate within its budget and have practices that reduce financial risk. Every decision I make on the school board will be grounded in fiscal responsibility.
-
The school district is in the planning phase of a 20-year facility plan. The school district does not employ a civil engineer unlike most taxing districts (e.g. the city has a city engineer.) Throughout my career as a civil engineer, I have experience with projects of this scale. After attending recent meetings and work sessions, I know my input as a board member will be beneficial to the planning and execution of the 20-year facility plan.
-
The school board election is nonpartisan and I will keep it that way. I am independent and I am not seeking support from any political party. When school board members bring their political agendas into the board room they are not thinking of the students first. The ups and downs of the current political climate threatens the stability of the school district. As a school board member I will be open and respectful to the ideas of all stakeholders, but my decisions will be based on creating the best student experience with good fiscal stewardship.
Meet Elizabeth
Engagement in the community is a core value to me. In a typical day I bounce between my job, coaching scouts and robotics, volunteering in parent led organizations in our school community, and being a hands-on mother, wife, and daughter.
I take pride in being hard working, reliable, and respectful. I’m not afraid to ask hard questions and I’m comfortable making tough decisions. I’m a detail oriented person who can step back and look at the big picture. I know the time commitment and the variety of work required of the school board members will be a natural fit for me.
